  • How much does it cost to develop a motor?
    • The cost is variable but average costs excluding UL® recognition is < $3,000.00. Most of the cost is related to shipping samples, etc. You are not charged for the design and development.
  • How much does UL® recognition cost?
    • For most motors the initial cost is < $2,000.00. Normal annual fees can be slightly more, depending on the chosen factory.
  • Do I own the motor design?
    • Yes.
  • What is typical lead time from design to first article?
    • Allowing 30 days for design and approval, you can see a new motor in about 90 days.
  • Is there a warranty? How does it work?
    • Yes, the minimum warranty is for one (1) year after receipt of product, on parts and workmanship. The most common procedure is to provide a replacement motor. The warranty can be granted based on 3rd party inspection, such as any EASA® authorized motor repair shop.
  • Can I duplicate an existing design?
    • Yes, a patented AC motor is very rare.
  • Is there a minimum order requirement?
    • No. But it is difficult to be cost effective with less than 500-800 motors per order.
  • Can you provide custom IEC (metric) motors?
    • Yes. We can produce from 63 to 90 frame sizes.
